España, quinto país emisor de turismo hacia la República Dominicana
La República Dominicana continúa creciendo de forma imparable a nivel turístico. Según ha dado a conocer el Banco Central del país, entre enero y noviembre del año pasado llegaron a este destino 5.560.787 visitantes no residentes por vía aérea, lo cual supone un incremento del 3,9% con respecto al año anterior. De forma general, el número de viajeros se ha incrementado en 208.286 viajeros.
El número de visitantes no residentes se situó en una cifra de 5,5 millones, de los cuales el 87,1% estuvo conformado por turistas extranjeros (esto supone un aumento del 4,4%). El otro 12,8% fueron dominicanos no residentes.
El papel de Norteamérica
Por otro lado, América del Norte fue el principal país emisor de turistas internacionales para la República Dominicana, representando el 56,3% de las visitas. El siguiente puesto lo obtuvo Europa, con un 25,8% de llegadas de extranjeros, y América del Sur con el 12,8%.
Fueron más de 12.800 los españoles que visitaron la República Dominicana durante ese período. De esta manera, España se sitúa como quinto mercado europeo en la emisión de turistas hacia este país, siendo superado tan solo por Rusia, Alemania, Francia e Inglaterra.
El aeropuerto dominicano que más viajeros recibió fue el de Punta Cana, con un total de 3,2 millones de llegadas de turistas internacionales. Por detrás se sitúan el de Las Américas, con 837.927 turistas, y el de Puerto Plata, con 406.571.
La República Dominicana, todo un referente mundial a nivel de turismo
Y es que no cabe duda de que viajar a la República Dominicana es un sueño para gran cantidad de personas de todo el planeta, que encuentran en este país un entorno paradisíaco y una oferta turística sin igual, como por ejemplo unos espectaculares hoteles en Boca Chica.
Gracias a los datos conseguidos por el país en materia de turismo, la República Dominicana participó una vez más este año en FITUR con un stand propio. Cabe destacar que el mercado europeo fue el que más ayudó al crecimiento del turismo en la República Dominicana el año pasado, con 166.199 viajeros adicionales en el período entre enero y noviembre. En esta ocasión, en FITUR se ha querido promocionar todos los encantos turísticos del país, y darlo a conocer como destino Mice.

Son 32 las provincias que forman la República Dominicana, con una superficie total de 48.760 metros cuadrados y más de diez millones de habitantes. Al norte limita con el Océano Atlántico, al sur con el Mar Caribe, al este con el Canal de la Mona y al oeste con la República de Haití.
Actualmente es considerado como uno de los países con mayores atractivos turísticos, motivo por el cual año tras año es visitado por millones de turistas. Algunos de los lugares más famosos del país son Bávaro-Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata y Juan Dolio, entre otros muchos. Y es que si algo no falta en la República Dominicana son destinos ideales para visitar.
